Effective October 1, Schulz Unternehmensfamilie, parent organization of Kaspar Schulz Brauereimaschinenfabrik & Apparatebauanstalt based in Bamberg, Germany, took over Esau & Hueber, based in Schrobenhausen, Germany.
"With this takeover, we want to expand our existing expertise in order to be able to offer our customers integrated system solutions for the processing of raw materials into beer, malt and whiskey," says Johannes Schulz-Hess, owner of the Schulz Family of Companies, explaining the reasoning behind the acquisition, adding "This opens up completely new opportunities for us and the industry.

The location in Schrobenhausen will remain, the jobs of our 47 employees are secure, and our product portfolio, especially in the brewery and pharmacy area, is complemented ideally,” states Christoph Sedlaczek, General Manager at Esau & Hueber, whose main expertise includes services and turn-key plants for the brewing and beverage industry across the world. The activities in the field of process automation and the successful pharmaceutical segment of the long-established Schrobenhausen-based company are to be further developed in the future and the know-how in the yeast and aeration sector as well as in plant engineering for the cold area of breweries at Kaspar Schulz will be further expanded.
With the acquisition of Esau & Hueber, the group of companies, which includes not only Kaspar Schulz but also Hinke Tankbau in Vöcklamarkt, Austria, and Künzel Maschinenbau in Mainleus, Germany, grows to 375 employees and an annual revenue of approx. 60 million euros.
